  • What is an EEG?An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that measures the electrical activity of the brain. It is a non-invasive test that uses small electrodes placed on the scalp to record the electrical signals produced by the brain.Why is an EEG done?

    How is an EEG done?

    An EEG is a painless test that takes about 30 minutes to an hour to perform. The patient will be asked to sit or lie still while the electrodes are placed on the scalp. The electrodes are connected to a machine that records the electrical signals. The patient may be asked to perform certain tasks, such as opening and closing their eyes, during the test.
